These first two weeks of living in beautiful Serei Saophoan has truly been a wild ride. The people of this city have such an ability to open up their hearts, homes, and lives to us. Getting to walk down the road and always getting waved at and said hi to even when I don’t know them always makes me smile. These are a group of people that have so much joy just to say hi to a stranger as an opportunity to practice their English. I have a new name Teacher, my qualifications: I speak English and Jesus is guiding my steps. Going into peoples homes getting go meet people where their at is extremely humbling and gut wrenching. But so encouraging to see their joy and their love and devotion to God regradless of their current position or trail. It’s so ironic how we as Americans including me have literally everything we. Hold possible want, need, or even think of but yet we’re still not happy. When the people around us are experiencing hardship we could not understand or relate to and they still over flow with joy. Building relationships with the teenagers at the base and with the pastors family has created so much joy and laughter getting to hear about how God is working in their life as well as what currently is a trail in their life. Needless to say my birthday was filled with love and celebration i woke up with gifts and a mini birthday cake. I also received a cake from the Governor himself self and a cake from our fantastic host. So the night ended in 3 cakes so much dancing and laughter that will last a life time. I truly don’t understand how we have been so so blessed by Cambodia and its people but the Lord is clearly moving here! Some fun facts from this week we ate frog, we danced at a Cambodian wedding, we slammed 23 servings of Nutella at breakfast , accidentally bought flowers that are meant for Buddhist offerings, and becoming one with the staring culture!
Pray for me and my teams bodies that we have energy and don’t get food poisoning.
That no darkness will cling to us after home visits.
That the community will have ears to hear and eyes to see our God is living and active!
Thanks for tuning in!
