We have officially been in Thailand for 12 days now. The 4 hours standing in a customs line with my pack and 15+ hours on a bus was definitely brutal, but so worth the destination. It has been fun to see what is similar and different from Cambodia. Similarities, the food is still fantastic, the people are so selfless, and people that are hungry for the truth. Some differences are that in Thailand dogs are pets, there are lots of cats and many more tattoos. My favorite activity so far that I did with my team was going to Sticky Falls. This was a water fall that due to the algae in the water you are able to climb on it. I had so much doubt even up to the moment I stepped on the rocks. After that step I was stuck in a state of disbelief and child like wonder. There was so much joy just getting to sit in Gods beautiful nature. The day was filled with lots of climbing, laying under water of the falls and being in a posture of gratitude and peace! The falls i later realized where an example of how God is moving in my life, the more you climbed on the falls the more trust you had that you wouldn’t fall, as I place more trust in the Father I grow in the truth of how much he cares for me. Recently I have been saying “God my finances are yours”, due to the fact that money gives me a lot of anxiety it was a burden that I was grateful I got to toss to the father. God answered that prayer through something as simple as my card not working for about 2 weeks. Some of those days included travel days and settling into our new house and needing to buy food, so you can understand the panic. However it forced me not only to lean on God with the knowledge that He will provide, but to also lean on the people around me for financial help. Our first week consisted of renovating a park it was a joy to see people use it. The Thai grandmas that lived near us gave us snack after snack and even lunch. It is such a blessing to be a blessing. This week consists of renovating a church and going into the community, providing meals for the Thai people in need. Currently I’ve been getting to experience like what it’s like to just sit and be in a friendship with our Heavenly Father, a posture of bringing my joys, my sorrows, and what I’m hopeful for to His feet. How placing your trust in Him reaps rewards and helps me to act more like him. Prayer request; Unity in the body that I have humility, that I can be gentle and lowly just like Jesus. Pray for the community, I live in a red light district and there is just so much hurt and pain and hurting that only Jesus can heal.
