As a sophomore I made the decision to graduate a year early as a Junior in high school. This created the opportunity for me to spend a gap year growing my faith, choosing adventure, and gain life experiences. I researched different gap year programs, but World Racers caught my eye because you can go as a 17 year old. Also, one of the countries this organization travels to is South Africa. Since I am adopted from Ethiopia, I have always had the desire to travel to Africa. Although South Africa is different than Ethiopia, I desire to be around ethnic groups more similar to myself. In addition to traveling to South Africa, we will be visiting three other counties. Cambodia is one of them, where sex trafficking is rampant. I don't have much to offer them, but I can offer them kindness and I look forward to sharing Jesus with them. I am excited to see what is instore with World Race!
